Friggin’ Solange, y’big babe

This is probably like the fifth or sixth blog I’ve started. But that’s fine I guess or maybe it’s not really. I don’t know, anything; I’m in the worst mood ever. I have some time on my hands now so I’m going to just post a bunch of things I like. Mainly cos I haven’t got around to/am way too lazy to create and maintain a real life diary that I can hold in my real life hands. So anyway I’m just really tired right now and I just aggressively yelled at my parents for watching McFly being interviewed on tv.

Right now, at this very moment, the person I would most like to look like in the whole wide world is Solange Knowles. Actually it would be so good to BE her because then me and Beyonce would be ~sistas~ and I could babysit Blue Ivy when Beyonce and Jay Z needed to go to the Grammys or whatever. Anyway Solange’s recent body garments have been amaymay! The colours are so good and the patterns too. I’m sorry this is written so badly I’m in a weird delirious state and I don’t really have any appreciation for the English language at the moment, because all my appreciation is busy appreciating Solange’s afro.

Andy walking, Andy tired, Andy take a little snooze

On the 6th of August 2011 Andy Warhol would have turned 83 years old. In remembrance  artist Edgar Askelovic has made a sculpture of what Andy would have looked like if he was still alive today. For some reason I find the sculpture quite sad. I guess when famous people die young, they’re always remembered as they were in their prime. I think this sculpture reminds us that Andy Warhol was just as human as we all are, and I guess in that respect it’s pretty nice.

Villa Mairea

Recently I’ve been a bit obsessed with nice buildings, and Villa Mairea is one of the nicest I’ve come across. It was built in 1937 by a Finnish architect Alvar Aalto in the middle of a pine forest in Finland as an ‘experimental house’ for his friends Harry and Maire Gullichsen. I wish I had amazing Finnish architect friends that would build me houses in the forest. Maybe one day.

Franz Xaver Messerschmidt

I’ve decided to start writing about cool things I find on the internet so I don’t forget about them. The other day I stumbled across this guy – Franz Xaver Messerchmidt – a German-Austrian sculptor who was around in the 1700’s and he made awesome sculptures of extreme facial expressions! I really like them and want one for my room so if anyone has some lying around let me know. Thinking about attempting something similar but way worse sometime in the very distant future. Anyway here are a couple for you to look at. I think the main reason I like them so much is that they could easily be so modern.
